LOS ANGELES, CA – Jamaican recording artiste, Keznamdi, Sunday night won the 2026 Grammy Award for Best Reggae Album defeating his follow Jamaican artistes to take the coveted prize in his first nomination for the album, Blxxd & Fyah.
The other four contenders were: Lila Iké (Treasure Self Love), Vybz Kartel (First Week Out), Jesse Royal (No Place Like Home), and Mortimer (From Within).
“Reggae music has always been a music weh defend truths and rights, and African liberation and black man redemption,” said Keznamdi in accepting the award, while applauding his parents and his team.
“We a represent Jamaican culture and dancehall and reggae,” said Keznamdi.

The 10-song Bob Marley: One Love (Music Inspired by the Film) soundtrack won the Best Reggae Album category at the 67tth annual Grammy Awards on Sunday February 9.
The project, which accompanied the box office hit film of the same name, features covers of some of Marley’s better known songs such as Natural Mystic, Exodus, Waiting in Vain, Three Little Birds, One Love, Redemption Song and Is This Love.

The 2024 Calypso Monarch title was claimed by none other than the soca superstar, Machel Montano! His energetic performance during the finals at Queen’s Park Savannah, Port of Spain, left the crowd in awe.
Montano’s winning composition, “Soul of Calypso”, showcased his deep appreciation for the origins of this art form.
This victory marked his first calypso crown, a remarkable achievement after participating in the competition as an 11-year-old in 1986 and again at 16 in 1991.
Mical Teja was also crowned Road March winner.
